Electroplating, also known as electrodeposition is a process of forming a metallic coating through the reduction of metal cation by utilizing electric current. Electroplating processes have widely used in the industry which aim to enhance the surface appearance and properties of a material. For instance, it can increase the resistance to corrosion and abrasion, surface hardness and also the electrical conductivity. At the same time, it can also be used as an cost-efficient method to increase the surface thickness in order to improve product surface uniformity.

Anodizing is an electrochemical surface finishing process similar to electroplating which functions to protect the finished products against corrosion by increasing the surface thickness of the metal parts. However, the principles behind is lot more different compared to electroplating. Anodizing process utilized the processed parts as anode to form a thin oxide film on the surface. Besides improving mechanical properties of the metal parts, the micropores formed on the thin film possess good absorption ability which allows them to be dyed with different colours.

4. Laboratory Set-Up and Lab Analysis
Shanzhi Chemical helps client to perform simple laboratory set-up and provide technical support for the in-house analysis required especially for electroplating and anodizing industry. We also helps clients to carry out lab analysis for electroplating or anodizing baths as a monitoring procedure of chemical concentration to maintain production quality.
